After check-in and a one-page waiver, guests decorate a plate with whatever is bothering them, store belongings in lockers and get fitted with coveralls, a face shield helmet and cut-resistant gloves. They pick weapons such as bats, crowbars or golf clubs, get a quick safety briefing in their room and smash a crate of breakables, playing their own music over Bluetooth. Solo sessions run about 15 minutes and group sessions about 30. Extra crates or electronics can be ordered before or during the session.

What you can smash

Items on offer include crate of breakables, electronics and customizable plate.

Tools provided: crowbars, bats, golf clubs, billy clubs and wrenches.

Protective gear supplied by the venue: long-sleeve coveralls S to 6X, helmet with face shield, cut-resistant gloves M to XL, disposable shoe protectors (free) and safety glasses, ear plugs, N95 masks (rentals $3 each).

Other activities

The Wrecking Company also offers session video $15, boot rental $3, gift cards and donation bin in lobby.

Before you go

Guardians must sign the minor's waiver and are responsible for participating minors.

Health and safety

• Pregnant people may not participate
• Anyone suspected of being intoxicated may not participate

Waiver: One-page safety waiver signed at check-in.

What to wear: sturdy closed-toe shoes (no Crocs, mesh shoes, slippers or mules; boots rentable for $3) and comfortable lightweight clothing under coveralls.

Your own items: Added to the provided crate; staff approve electronics for toxicity or danger.
