Thrash The Smash Room

Guests choose one of four session packages priced per session (not per person) based on group size, time and quantity of breakables. After signing a waiver and playing lobby games while staff stage the room, they're fitted with protective gear and taken to one of four smash rooms. They play their own music over Bluetooth and pick from bats, golf clubs, hammers, mallets, sledgehammers and crowbars. Staff handle cleanup. Extra items can be bought before or during the session.

The only smash room in Columbia, South Carolina by its own description, operated by Kwality Venturez LLC. The East Point Plaza (Garners Ferry Rd) location is currently closed during an expansion. It also runs corporate team-building sessions and accepts donations.

What you can smash

Items on offer include glassware, plates, cups, bottles, TVs, cellphones, printers, light fixtures, coffee makers, microwaves, laptops, toasters, toaster ovens, figurines, vases and VHS tapes.

Tools provided: baseball bats, golf clubs, hammers, mallets, sledgehammers and crowbars.

Protective gear supplied by the venue: long sleeves, padded chest protectors, face shields, gloves, goggles, shoe covers and ear plugs.

Other activities

Thrash The Smash Room also offers Xtra bottles 10 for $10, microwaves and toaster ovens $25, TVs $30, selfie stations, lobby games, gift cards and donations.

Before you go

Ages 8 and up with present parent consent.

Waiver: All participants must sign; may print and sign beforehand.

What to wear: long pants, socks and closed-toe shoes highly recommended.

Your own items: Under 10 glass items free; 10 or more costs a $10 clean up fee; $10 clean up fee per 2 small electronics; TVs or large electronics up to $50; empty alcohol bottles must be rinsed.
