VENT Activity Rooms

A private, one-group-at-a-time activity space with a smash room, a splatter room and a listening room called Verbal. A smash session is a one-hour stay covering check-in, gearing up, about 30 minutes of smashing and cooldown, for groups up to 6, 18+ only, with each person given 15 items. Electronics and TVs aren't smashed; items are glass, ceramic and wood sourced from local thrift shops. Guests may bring their own clean glass, ceramic or wood pieces for free.

Small independent business that started during Covid, built for private sessions focused on self-expression and stress relief. Offers party lounge rentals and kids splatter parties in the Malt House Exchange plaza in Portsmouth.

What you can smash

Items on offer include glass, ceramic, wood, bottles, plates, cups, figurines, lamps, vases, picture frames and chairs and side tables.

Tools provided: tools provided and kept in room.

Protective gear supplied by the venue: coverall, helmet with face shield and gloves.

Waiver: Smash room waiver signed ahead; ID must be present.

Booking and cancellation

• Notice: 1 hour for regular sessions, 14 days for parties, up to 60 days ahead
• Cancellations: All sessions non-refundable; one courtesy reschedule with 24 hours notice; later reschedules 50% fee; day-of 100% fee
• Deposits and refunds: Early party spot payments of $50 nonrefundable and due 7 days before
• Late arrival: Arriving halfway or later counts as a no-show; recovery possible for $25 per 15 minutes if a slot is open
